General Below Decks Lay Out: Down Below JOSS has an extremely spacious (7' ceiling) open layout with great light and fantastic ventilation through a variety of opening hatches and companionways. Cabinetry is all teak and done with the typcial Cheoy Lee craftsmanship. All of JOSS' main doors are louvered making them stylish while further enhancing air flow. JOSS was completely revarnished in 2003 and is still in excellent shape except for a few water damaged spots. In general, she has bunks for 10 including two in the aft cabin; two in the galley (galley table lowers to double bed); 4 in the main salon and 2 in the foreward cabin. JOSS has two full heads with showers and sinks, one in the aft cabin (which can be closed off from the main area of the boat; and, one just aft of the forward cabin (which can also be closed off). JOSS' galley has double sinks; a large refrigerator box and a large freezer box; and, a 3 Burner with oven gas stove.

Aft bunk with lots of room for day storage!

The aft cabin has a double berth which is located on the port side of the boat under the cockpit. Just forward of the aft bunk is the nav stations with a full complement of electronics including a central charting computer which is fed all navigation; wind and depth information. The aft cabin also is the home of the main electrical panel. To the starboard side of the aft cabin is a full head with shower, toilet sink and tool storage. The Aft Cabin / Aft Head / Nav Station area can be closed off from the main area of the boat via a louvered door.

Looking Aft into the Galley Settee

Moving foward from the aft cabin you enter into galley with the refrigeration box directly in front of you. The galley settee area is to port as you enter the galley. The galley settee seats six confortably and is out of the traffic flow for moving around the boat and can be comforably lit with either 12v or 110v lighting. Behind the galley settee to port is significant cupboard storage. Beneath the galley settee seats are the house batteries; the inverter/charger and the Spectra Watermaker. The galley has large cupboard and drawer storage; 3 burner stove/oven; dual sinks; tiled backstop; propane control center; refrigeration box (2 level); deep freeze box and large counter space over the refrigeration/freezer box.

Main Salon Starboard Settee

A small "step-down" from the galley as you move forward takes you into JOSS' main salon. The main salon has two large settees one to port and one to starboard. There are large storage cupboards along both the port and starbord sides of the main salon above the settees. The main salon can is comforably lit by either overhead 12 volt lighting or built in 110v lamps.

Forward Cabin Double Berth

Moving forward out of the main salon puts a louvered door to port which is the entrance to the foward head and another louvered door to forward which enters the foward cabin. The forward cabin its the main door for entering the cabin as well as separate door to the foward head. This allows the foward cabin to be "closed" off from the rest of the boat while still maintaining access to the forward head. The forward cabin consist of a double berth wide at the aft end and tapering towards the bow. It has a large over head hatch and two opening side ports for ventilation. Although not as large as the aft cabin, in very hot climates it is the more comfortable sleeping choice. The foward head is spacious with a full shower; toilet and sink area.
